Aboyne is a village which sits within the Marr area of Aberdeenshire, one of six administrative regions that make up Aberdeenshire Council. The village is located within Royal Deeside approximately 30 miles west of Aberdeen, 81 miles south east of Inverness and close to the Cairngorm National Park. It is accessed via the A93, the main arterial route from Aberdeen, and the B976. Stagecoach provides regular bus services to Aberdeen and the surrounding towns and villages. The area is home to a number of castles and is a popular tourist destination along the River Dee. Nearby attractions include Aboyne Castle, the Loch of Aboyne and Aboyne Golf Club.
